Influenced by Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblock prints this series feature the red box synonymous with the genre. This box/ribbon usually has the title, a poem/motto or the artist's, block cutter's or printer's name. Here, I have chosen to witten the tittle of the piece in Cornish.
I have taken a photograph of the tree, reduced the image to black and white and then printed it out onto cartridge paper. 2 stencils are cut; one in the shape of the green fields and one the shape of the background/sky. The grass shaped stencil is placed over the building of digital print and the sky airbrushed on. The process is reversed for the colours on the building.
Although the process can be repeated, each piece is an original.
