This Lesser Spotted Woodpecker was clinging to our balcony. I went looking for a more suitable perch for the composition and found it in this Welsh Oak. The woodpecker is a Linocut on watercolour paper. Once dry, the back of the paper was then sprayed with water before being stretched for painting.
