Past Hawthorns - Lino On Washi Paper
Part of my series '36 Views'. This lino cut is a westerly view from Helman Tor of the 'Great Treverbyn Tip - West Carclaze. The 'Sky Tip' can be seen from many distant parts of the Cornwall' much in the way that Hiroshige and Hokusai saw Mount Fuji as they passed 'stations' on the way to Tokyo. Japanese Ukiyo-e inspired, this lino cut pays homage to the '36 Views of Mount Fuji'' by Hokusai and "Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido' by Hiroshige.
